Hi readers, I know this blog is about wild life and farming photography but if you read my other blogs you will know I have 3 guinea pigs(very over photographed!), 2 rabbits and a fish (Fish are very hard to take photos of!) and I know how hard it is to take photos of them in focus and a good photo. Here are my 5 tips for taking their photos.
Tip no.1
Don't make them sit still! Small pets are terrible at sitting still but if they want to they will!
Tip no.2
Use treats to help them sit still(totally useful!)! I recommend healthy treats such as dried forage(or freshly picked forage) or veggies.
Tip no.3
You don't have to use a fancy camera! I use a simple Nikon Coolpix L31. A fancy camera will get better quality photos but they can be quite expensive! You can also use a mobile phone. I have found they can take better pictures than my camera!
Tip no.4
Use natural lighting. Artificial lighting can be used but I personally prefer natural as my guinea pigs live outside so I have nice natural lighting. If you already have artificial lighting with white lights it will be closer to natural lighting.
Tip no.5
Turn of the flash. It can scare your small pets and ruin the photo quality.
I hope you find this useful,
Book Worm :)
